Quang Nam Approves Master Plan for Nearly 650-Hectare Nam Thang Binh Industrial Park

The People’s Council of Quang Nam Province has greenlit a 1/2,000-scale master plan for the Nam Thang Binh Industrial Park, a 649.15-hectare project within the Chu Lai Open Economic Zone. Designed as a multi-sector, eco-industrial hub, the park aims to drive sustainable growth in the province’s eastern region.

Well-planned large-scale development

Under the plan, Nam Thang Binh Industrial Park will cover the communes of Binh Sa, Binh Nam, Binh Trung and Binh Tu of Thang Binh District. It is a strategic region of the major development area of the province, which is nowadays on the top list of investment and infrastructural improvement.

The project aims to build a modern, eco-industrial park for clean and supporting industries, in line with Quang Nam’s sustainability strategy.

Strategic location with strong regional connectivity

The industrial park is situated in an area with good inter-regional transport connectivity. To the northeast, it is bordered by Vo Chi Cong Road – an important coastal highway that connects Da Nang, Hoi An, and Chu Lai. To the southeast, the site is connected to existing roads and residential areas.

To the southwest, it borders the Chu Lai Open Economic Zone, the Nam Thang Binh Cemetery, and nearby housing areas. To the northwest, it also connects to a planned road that leads to the southwest and coincides with Vo Chi Cong Road, enhancing the site’s overall accessibility.

Vo Chi Cong Road, stretching 69 kilometers from Hoi An City to Chu Lai Airport (Nui Thanh District), is a major infrastructure investment that unlocks the potential of Quang Nam’s vast eastern region.

The strategic location provides easy access to sea ports, airports, and high logistical corridor in the area, which provides competitive advantage to the investors and secondary enterprises.

Eco-industrial model with modern infrastructure

Under the approved plan, Nam Thang Binh will be developed as an ecological industrial park, prioritizing a balance between industrial activity and environmental sustainability. The park will primarily attract clean industries, supporting industries, and other high-value-added sectors.

Functional zones will be arranged logically and efficiently, including: production and warehousing areas; administration and service zones; a dedicated security area featuring a fire police station and other safety infrastructure; extensive green space comprising public parks and specialized greenery; water landscapes and retention lakes; a technical zone with wastewater treatment facilities, a 110kV power station, and other utilities; parking facilities; and an internal road network. The plan also reserves land for protective forest areas in line with the Chu Lai Open Economic Zone’s green spatial development orientation.

Boosting local development and employment

Once operational, the industrial park is ex directly to the local budget, expected to generate between 26,200 and 58,950 jobs. In addition to contributing the project is anticipated to stimulate the growth of services, logistics, vocational training, and supporting industries.

As Quang Nam accelerates industrialization with a focus on green transition, Nam Thang Binh is seen as a key component in the province’s long-term strategy - enhancing regional competitiveness, improving household incomes, and elevating the overall quality of life for the local population.
